Once apon a time on a nice summer afternoon in Prague, the children in a family of six pleaded to their parents to let them play on a lovely playground they saw as they were passing by. The eldest daughter was enjoying the playground peacefully with her younger sisters when all her glee was put to an end… dun dun DUN.
An ominous shadow fell over the playing children’s faces. Here was the conversation that followed,
Park Stasi: “You! Too Big! OFF!”
Eldest Daughter: “But….” *cut off by a death stare from the angry old lady.*A little frightened but burning with fire from within the eldest daughter walks to the bench where the eldest son and her father sits. “Jeez we got a park Stasi over there.”
Ahh what’s a Stasi you may ask. Well my fellow reader the traveling family most recently learned in Berlin what the Stasi were. The Stasi were an all controlling government in East Berlin when the wall was still up. In fact the eldest daughter had to write a paper on it for Dr. Nehcterg (her mother).
The mother was making her way over to her two remaining children who were able to play “freely”. The eldest son and daughter saw the park Stasi making her way over to the unsuspecting victims. They hopped up in a haste because they just had to hear what their mother had to say to this old angry elf.
“You are too big. Childs only!” ordered the Park Stasi. The enraged mother gets off the teeter totter and glares at the short stern woman.
“What? I can’t play with my own kids?”
“No you can! Like this,” the Park Stasi put her hand on the teeter totter and lightly touched it with her fingers, “See?!” She said. The mother does what the Park Stasi did and said,
” Have fun guys” the youngest daughters played along perfectly having magnificent frowns planted on their face as they stared at the Park Stasi glumly and then at the ground. The Park Stasi lifted her chin and humphed a little humph and sort of lurked to side of the play ground to stare at us with resentment. She soon saw a little boy who wasn’t playing on HER playground correctly and went off to yell at him.
“Can we play on it?” the two eldest children eagerly asked their parents.
“Haha go ahead, why not?” Both parents replied to their children. The children jumped up and ran to a big jungle gym looking structure climbing and hanging from the ropes feeling like the worlds most troublesome kids. All until the park Stasi briskly started to make her way back to the rebellious group of children the girls fled leaving the son to face her alone.
“TOO BIG! You must be 12 or younger!!!!” The Park Stasi yelled.
“Oh well that’s great!!” The son exclaimed with a false look of innocence on his face. “Me and my sister are 12!”
“Both?” She asks doubt washed over her face as she looked him up and down.
“Yeah twins!” The son smiled enthusiastically. She lifted her nose and turned on her heel leaving the family. The kids then of course did not find the playground nearly as much fun now that they were allowed to play on it, so they left the Park Stasi alone with her suspiciously empty park. The Jones children were sad that they couldn’t play on the play ground freely that day. But little did they know that on the next leg of their journey they were about to enter Austria the mother of awesome playgrounds, where their adventure will continue…
THE END

Hi, Molly. I loved your post…very clever. I’ve even heard adults in the hood talking about how much they enjoyed reading about your funny experience on the playground. Keep them coming. It helps when we’re missing you. Love, Sid
